NSS is interested in locating a highly experienced and qualified Health Physics professional who possesses many years of practical experience with Nuclear Power Plant Outages and Projects. Such a professional would be interested in taking on the challenges associated with one of the largest nuclear refurbishment projects in the world. This position would be based at the Bruce Power nuclear facility in Tiverton, Ontario.

 

Our organization is committed to the development and growth of health physics professionals in Canada and we seek dynamic, high quality and practical individuals to become part of a growing, operational health physics team within NSS.

 

The opportunity at Bruce Power will allow the successful applicant to use and share their existing operational health physics skills and apply them under the management of a highly qualified and experienced, operational health physics team in a commercial, project environment. It is a term position for the duration of the project (currently scheduled to continue until late 2009, though subject to extension should NSS be involved in providing Radiation Protection for the planned Bruce Units 3 and 4 refurbishment).

 

We would like to receive applications from candidates who believe they meet the following credentials and possess the following qualities:

 
  • Excellent English communication skills - oral and written.
  • Extensive courses in Operational Health Physics with practical training at Nuclear Power Plants.
  • More than ten years experience as an Operational Health Physicist for Nuclear Power Plant Outages and Projects.
  • Well prepared to identify and use their knowledge and experience to improve worker efficiency without sacrificing radiation safety.
  • Able to practice operational health physics in a commercial environment.
  • Able to mentor and provide direction to junior staff, thereby enabling their development as radiation safety professionals.
