Nuclear Safety Solutions is the fastest growing engineering and nuclear safety analysis company in Canada, providing specialized services to the power generation industry, chemical and process industries. Located in downtown Toronto, NSS has a staff of approximately 400 engineers and scientists, who provide technical solutions to numerous clients world wide. NSS is a member of the AMEC global family, which designs, delivers and supports infrastructure development, from technical services to international landmark projects, with a staff of over 20,000 in offices all around the world.
NSS is continuing to expand its capability in the Commercial Services Directorate which interfaces with all of our technical directorates, including Structural Integrity, Reactor and Radiation Physics, Risk Management, Thermal Hydraulics, Station Support, and the Design, Operations, and Fuel & Fuel Channels Engineering Directorates.
An opportunity is available to work in the Commercial Services Directorate. Individuals with an interest in participating in a fast-paced, challenging environment covering a wide range of business, commercial, and project management activities should consider this position.
Staff working in the Commercial Services Directorate will be part of an energetic team providing the core capability within NSS for effective execution of commercial and business related activities, as outlined below:
developing/implementing/supporting business and project management processes and systems
coordinating, reviewing and evaluating proposals/tenders in response to requests for proposal on a wide variety of technical subjects
identifying, assessing and addressing the risks involved with the work to determine whether they are adequately addressed in the tender scope and price
negotiating with new and existing clients on the contract terms and conditions to protect NSS from potentially costly liabilities
ensuring adequacy of corporate insurance coverage
supporting development of existing and new lines of business
assisting in the development of purchase orders
interaction with clients on both an overall work program and specific project basis
acting as a point of contact with different client groups
developing and monitoring work programs with clients
assisting in the management of the corporate car rental/leasing program
In addition to experience related to the above areas, successful candidates will have:
An understanding of CANDU nuclear power plant design, operation and regulatory requirements, or equivalent for fossil and chemical plants
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Excellent process and project management skills
Ability to maintain attention to detail in a fast paced environment
Strong computer skills with a variety of software programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
The ability to develop and maintain relationships with customers
The ability to provide practical solutions and quality products

A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science or equivalent is required.
