The work involves performing
analyses of postulated accident scenarios using state-of-the-art
engineering software, and interfacing with other engineering
disciplines. Staff will be involved in the preparation of documents for
clients in the CANDU nuclear industry in support of licensing
submissions to the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission. Employees will
also provide technical interface with specialist regulatory staff,
participate in the development, verification, testing, documentation and
validation of computer codes used in safety analysis, participate in the
development of new analytical methods and models, and provide technical
direction of experimental research programs related to safety and
licensing issues. Our business side of the company offers opportunities
in project management, contract negotiation and marketing.
Candidates
are expected to have sound fundamental knowledge of engineering and/or
science principles; applicants with post-graduate degrees are also
strongly encouraged to apply. The position is suitable for candidates
with superior analytical and problem solving skills, as well as an
aptitude in numerical/computational analysis. Candidates with advanced
knowledge in various disciplines, such as risk assessment, reactor and
radiation physics, CANDU fuel and channel behaviour, stress analyses,
fracture mechanics, computational fluid dynamics, two-phase flow and
heat transfer, and engineering material properties are highly desirable.
Excellent written and oral communication, time management, and
interpersonal skills are required.
