NSS is committed to hiring new graduates. We have
an excellent graduate trainee program that provides exposure to
different sides of our business.
The work involves performing safety and engineering analyses using
state-of-the-art engineering software, and interfacing with other engineering
disciplines. Staff will be involved in the analysis and preparation of
documents for clients in the chemical, environment and power generation
industries in support of regulatory submissions. Employees will also
provide technical interface with specialist regulatory staff,
participate in the development, verification, testing, documentation and
validation of computer codes used in safety and engineering analysis,
participate in the development of new analytical methods and models, and
provide technical direction of experimental research programs related to
safety and licensing issues.
The graduate trainee is expected to have sound fundamental knowledge of
engineering and/or science principles; applicants with post-graduate
degrees are also strongly encouraged to apply. The position is suitable
for candidates with superior analytical and problem solving skills, as
well as an aptitude in numerical/computational analysis. Graduates with
advanced knowledge in various disciplines, such as risk assessment,
physics, stress analyses, fracture mechanics, computational fluid
dynamics, two-phase flow and heat transfer, and engineering material
properties are highly desirable. Excellent written and oral
communication, time management, and interpersonal skills are
required.
You will be provided with extensive training in the use of analysis
software and analysis methods. During the initial employment period
(lasting up to two years), new employees will be given the opportunity
to work in a number of technical areas and may, for a specified period
(approximately 6 months), work at one of our client sites.
