NSS originally was the Nuclear Safety Analysis Division with Ontario Power Generation (OPG). This group had a long successful history of engineering support to the Ontario fleet of CANDU nuclear reactors dating back to the 1970s. In 2002, NNC, a large nuclear consulting company in the UK, acquired this group and NSS was formed. More recently, in 2005, NNC was acquired by AMEC. Since its formation in 2002, NSS has added more than 100 new staff and expanded its capabilities to offer a more complete set of operational support services to its customers.
